Spring is springing at our house, and it's a bit of a concern as things seem to be quite a bit ahead of schedule. The potted blueberry bushes on my deck are already unfolding their leaves! Buds are swelling wherever I look. The danger of course is that Mother Nature may decide to bring winter and hard freezes after all, and the poor fruit trees will bear very little this year. I am crossing my fingers that our freezes will happen before the trees start to flower!
Tom and I are going on a pioneer handcart trek with the youth of our stake this summer. We will be a Ma and Pa. Haley will actually be old enough to participate as well. So I have been busily figuring out patterns and working on assembling/sewing pioneer outfits for three. Kind of a fun challenge. I hope that maybe we will even be able to dress our whole family up and do our family photo this year as pioneers. The other thing we are doing is reading up on the Mormon pioneers, especially whatever we can learn about our own ancestors. Any help rounding up info would be greatly appreciated.
