February 9, 2010

Here is Danny in his new suit that he chose himself. He does look snazzy, doesn't he? He is especially excited about the sweater vest.

Spring is springing at our house, and it's a bit of a concern as things seem to be quite a bit ahead of schedule. The potted blueberry bushes on my deck are already unfolding their leaves! Buds are swelling wherever I look. The danger of course is that Mother Nature may decide to bring winter and hard freezes after all, and the poor fruit trees will bear very little this year. I am crossing my fingers that our freezes will happen before the trees start to flower!

Tom and I are going on a pioneer handcart trek with the youth of our stake this summer. We will be a Ma and Pa. Haley will actually be old enough to participate as well. So I have been busily figuring out patterns and working on assembling/sewing pioneer outfits for three. Kind of a fun challenge. I hope that maybe we will even be able to dress our whole family up and do our family photo this year as pioneers. The other thing we are doing is reading up on the Mormon pioneers, especially whatever we can learn about our own ancestors. Any help rounding up info would be greatly appreciated.

Fun, fun, fun

Recently we went for a visit to Tom's parents. On the way there, they treated us to a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge in southwestern Washington. It was tons of fun! Here are some pics: Sarah hung out with Grandma most of the time. They had a great kiddie pool and she even got her nap.
Danny also spent a lot of time in the kiddie pool, although he is really growing up and definitely enjoyed the bigger waterslides as well.

Here are Haley and then Jeff crossing the lily pads. This was a favorite activity.

A look at some of the slides. This was really a fun place.

Tom loved taking videos on the ride down. Here is my favorite:
